Apostle Joshua Selman Challenges Africans to Reject the Mindset That Makes Success Suspicious
Apostle Joshua Selman has challenged Africans, particularly young people, to reject limiting mindsets that make success at a young age appear suspicious or impossible. According to him, many things that are considered “miracles” in Africa are achieved elsewhere through diligence, innovation, discipline and deliberate effort. He pointed to young people who are inventing products, building companies and achieving remarkable success while still in their teenage years. He questioned a mentality where someone who builds their first house at 60 is considered to have simply “made it,” but someone who prospers at 21 is immediately met with suspicion and questions about who helped them. Selman urged young people not to allow people’s opinions, sentiments or suspicions to determine the trajectory of their lives. He emphasized that refusing to fail sometimes means refusing to internalize the limitations that others place on you. His message was ultimately a call to take responsibility for one’s destiny, pursue excellence and remain focused on God rather than getting distracted by people who constantly debate or speculate about one’s life.
